GIC’s return and the macroeconomy

Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC said its long-term performance remains resilient, even amidst a resurgent COVID-19 virus and rising inflation. Over the 20-year period ending March 31, 2022, GIC's annualised real rate of return came in at 4.2%, just slightly below the 4.3% last year. However, given an exceptionally uncertain outlook of high inflation and growing geopolitical tensions, GIC said it will continue to double down on diversifying its portfolio.
